For my 2.5x2.5 mum/veg I went a 120W chinese kit, It's never ran at more than 70W
Came out of the box ready to use, very happy with it
Cost me less ~$190 delivered

It's an R2T board. half 3000k half 4000k LM301B's, 8x LH351B 660nm and 12x 730nm epistars
This is the 240W version which you could buy for ~$300AUD delivered easy
IMHO It would be perfect for 3x3 veg

Then later one if you want to upgrade it, you can could add another 240W to it and have 480W
The 480W kit below you can see it's just 2x 240Ws bolted together with a frame

Thank you Gazza.

These plants have got a mix of 3100k +4200k 315w all way through.

I have used both spectrums start to finish with no mixing and can't say I noticed much.

Maybe 3100k faster in veg, maybe 4200k finish a tad faster.

If picking one, pick the 3100k Philips 930

The adjustawings 4200k outperforms the 942 Philips bulb on paper.
When you say mix of 3100k and 4200k in veg do you mean 2 separate lights or a dual globe
And nice looking grow

Thank you.

Yes I mean individual fixtures.
Some in Medium adjustawings defenders.
Some in small.
All individual non dimmable ballasts serving 1 bulb each.

Can Run 2x 315 bulbs in small adjustawings easy in a 1.2 tent.
Temp wise. You can expect about an extra 8c.
If you have ventilation sorted not an issue.

I have the Philips 930s (3100k) and adjustawings 4200k.

If using a cmh ballast with the output plug standard type, then the adjustawings holders that come for any hps plug straight in.
You still have to use the e40-pgz18 adaptor.

Don't get too caught up in which spectrum to get, it ain't a limiting factor.

I can vouch for the quality of Philips 930s. Adjustawings 4200k bulb out performs the Philips 942 on paper.

I have different spectrum partly due to the 4200k coming standard with the adjustawing. A 3100k is available.

I was running 630w per tent in 2x fixtures.
2.4x1.2 now runs 3x 315 with a centre 3100k flanked by a 4200k on either side.

The adjustawings ballasts are jug cable in and out.

Hortilux have a lot of returns apparently.
They have a 3k-r with extra Red and a 10k finishing bulb.
Not required imo but have never used.

Think a small adjusta wing would fit next to a medium one in a 1.2 x 1.2? Maybe I should just run 400w of HPS and a 315w in the future, would help with heat issues as well in winter.

Yes a medium defender will fit in a 1.2 with a small defender. Frank. And adequate spacing in a 1.2 around the shades.

I run the holder right at the back hole touching the wire string, centres the bulb better especially with an adaptor.

Cmh and hps mix supposed to be great.
That would be a neat setup

Defs. A HLG135 is ideal for veg in a 1x1 tent. I've used it for 2 runs and satisfied that it works. When I spoke to Soren from HLG he advised me the difference between a HLG 100 and a HLG135 is noticeably significant. He advised me against a HLG100 as it's just not enough light. Cost about $300 for HLG135 You won't notice extra electricity consumption on your next power bill, and no replacing globes.IMG_20191029_100044004_HDR.jpg

Just finished a harvest of GG Allin under my Chinese boards

198 grams from 240W. 0.825 gpw. I can do better.

Running 5 plants in a 3x3 trying to find a good keeper
Too many plants for the space but I found what I was looking for :D

Above I guesstimated my final weight by taking the wet weight * 0.15, it was a little out
I've got the true final weight now everything is fully dried, in jars and has been curing for 2 weeks

252grams from 240w - 1.05gpw

Pretty happy with that! :D
