Your method for sprouting seeds

Yeah, I've fried seeds and clones before, as heatmats can reach 36C. Now I just place a few magazines on top of heatmat to ensure temps stay under 25%. Also, much better success rate with male plants when I use old porno magazines 😜

Yep, I'm attempting to use the water as the insulation layer in the bubble cloner, there's about 3/4" of water in the bottom of tray. With the aerator/stone combo to splash up droplets to keep the paper towel moist, and lid to keep the humidity up.

Soak for 12-24 hrs in water, than into moist paper towel (the more expensive paper towels like viva work better imo) and Into a sandwich bag. Keep the pt/sand which bag standing up and keep in a warm dark place for 2-5 days.

Yeah, for sure, mate. I've had something similar saved to a shopping wish list for some time now, though its more grow room orientated. But yeah, might look into that one for next time. (y)

I'm trying to figure out a way on how to get something setup so I can have the extraction fan to kick in at either above a certain temperature or above a certain humidity. Because during the cooler months I might be struggling to keep the temps/humidity up. So been thinking I might have to have the extraction fan off at times so the light/moisture can generate heat and humidity within the room. With the idea to have the extraction fan to kick in only when the room hits the desired heat/humidity levels and shuts off again when it hits the lower temp/humidity settings.

Any ideas?
I got that set of Inkbird controllers but you can only plug your extraction fan into one or the other. Alternatively get a fan with a temp controller like a Blauberg. This has 2 different controls, one for setting standard running speed (set at lowest speed to maintain your temps in the cold) and the other is a max temp knob that sets your max temp to kick the fan into full speed if it gets too hot.

Yeah, I understood that is the case with the inkbirds. Pity they don't make a unit combining the two because it would've been a perfect fit for what I'm trying to achieve.

I've got a new Blauberg in the box, think it might be a twin speed. I'll look into what you mentioned, Quokka. Cheers. (y)

I learned earlier this year that if you store your seeds in the fridge you need to pull them out into room temperature for a minimum of 2 days to acclimatise them or you'll get a very poor germination rate.
I've never had an issue straight from the fridge. Usually just sit them on the bench for 10-15min while I get the paper towel setup. Probably around 98% success over the years even with seeds getting on in years.

Yeah they seem to be, nici. If they're the same company that I'm thinking of they might be the one that's been around since the 80's.

Also, I think I've figured out work around with the temp/humidity combo. The extraction would need to be a twin system with a bit of stuffing around with automated shutters.

I've got a coffee jar I duct taped so no light penetrates. Soak with rain water and 3% h202. Couple of drops. Soak for 24 hrs. Tails usually have broken out. Drain carefully out onto folded paper towel. Moist only not dripping. Put paper towel square over top to encapsulate. Put back in jar lid store in warm place and on
Check in a couple of days.
Works for me. Old seed get a little jar or box. Baby jar perfect. Cut 1200 wet dry grit sand paper in there. Put lid on. Shake lightly for a min or so. Then repeat first step into h202 water in jar. If they don't come up from that I don't like your chances of them popping. That's what works for me.

Hmm.. forgot all about that method of striking old seeds, frosty. I'll give it a go with some I've been struggling to germ the last couple of years. Cheers, man.(y)

Righto, putting 8 sativa seeds straight into coco, will water them in with 1/2 strength ferty, and put them in me sunroom
still cold as fuck here, so they shouldn't germinate, if they do the ferty should kill them 😂

no heat mat hey

what I want to know is will they germinate and grow or am I wasting 8 seeds ??
