just wanted to say

nothing wrong with having tools to help you with your craft mate

It's cool if you can have a natural feel for things & many people do but for the rest of us we need to learn what naturally comes to some people

using a moisture meter or par meter or temp & humidity meters are all handy valid tools , if i was living in my perfect world any indoor growing would be totally environmentally controlled 24/7 , all of that control would require meters

could i learn that " Feel For Things " over time , Yes absolutely , but i believe i can get just as good " Feel For Things " quicker with the help of tools

also just be careful to not mix methodologies , what coco growers do or what bottle nutrient charts say to do is not necessarily what you should be doing , we all have to learn to evaluate the plant we have in front of us , getting advice is good but we still have to workout the relevance to ourselves & our plants

Never truer words. An oz is definitely easier to buy than produce.

Be it at work or growing at home.

Im still searching for the way that fits me best. I dont have endless time to spare, what I do have is a curiosity and plenty of fantastic info generated by others treading well worn paths.

Will do. Most of the time I love it. Other days it feels like hard work.

But every morning seeing them I know I wouldn't have it any other way. Even with all the bullshit mistakes and unforeseen heartache theres a genuine satisfaction from seeing them go through all their stages.

I dont really use much more than a little, in that regard its almost all solely about the grow and trying to get better results. I just love hearing about it when its been a success and others get to enjoy it.

I put them in Self watering planters, to ensure there was airflow and to check my watering wasnt rivers down the side.

I used @itchybro guide to no more than 10% of total volume, 18L container, 1.8L max per irrigation.

Got it.

Its something Ill look at going forward if I go down the path of Easy Organics again.

Its honestly counter-intuitive and involves another fucking tool.

I could have mulched.

I did look at the rootball and media mass after the CK was done. They were easily the shallowest Ive ever grown. Like they went in transplant, spread to edges, and never deepened. Cant say I can remember a time they didnt make the bottom.

Could be it was an auto, and outdoors. Theres ambiguity in that, but one thing is certain, when it packs, it packs hard. The other Auto looks like it needs 20 to 30% more aeration, and I already had 20% perlite in there.

Again, something Ive never dealt with before.


If you have any insight on what Im doing incorrectly Im all for hearing it.

Its probably not even the watering that bothered me, it was how quickly they seemed to fade or be underfed that shocked me. Ill address that with you through email though. Cheers.

Just thought I’d add my 2cents.

There’s no reason to have single plant single pot. Especially if space is a factor. I think the idea of these huge fabric pots or beds can be overwhelming for the small scale but it doesn’t have to be a huge scale grow.

I’m about to finish my first living soil grow in a 40L wicking planter with three plants. It’s only using 1/3 of my tent space so let’s say 1’x3’ space. I little plant training and it got some nice size colas for my own personal use.

Hope that helps give you an idea of what’s possible

Flower girls (pic 1, taken 4 days after flip) are still in Easy Organics. These are my first Tent girls under LEDs.

Centre veg (Zkittlez) also in Easy Organics. I still had some left over so I was curious to see a side by side.

The ones surrounding her are Canna Terra, cut with additional perlite, around 15 to 20%.

All started the same day except the clone on Bottom Right. Its still a close race. Both are Zkittlez.

All are on supplementary feeding schedules following growth stage.

Pictured flower girl is mother of clone.

Extremely interesting. Common consensus goes something like you cant grow them together.

You absolutely shatter that myth.

Some of my girls will go outdoors so makes sense to divide them up for me. Also I want to flip based on size and training not so much age.

But that is definitely handy to know that even in a tent you can interplant to maximise resources.
