On another note, I installed Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate the other day. I was 13 when the original arcade version came out and Street Fighter II and it were all the rage so it's good to see how it has evolved.

I haven't really played the others between 1 & 2 and this one, the fatalities are definitely more creative though.

Years ago I had a program on my PC called MAME (multiple arcade machine emulator) it played all of the old arcade games which were available for free download. It's probably still out there.

My Brother used to stuff around with that emulator you could download your own fighters and everything people could make their own custom fighters and upload them online I remember someone made some really cool carnage and venom skins

Personally I don't think the performance difference justifies the price difference, I'd wait until they drop in price but it's your cash so it's up to you.

For me it was my beloved Texas Instruments TI-99/4A (3 MHz CPU, 16 KB RAM) cartridge + tape load. Saved my pennies to upgraded it with the Peripheral Expansion Box in '86, which was the size of a MT case & added a whopping 32KB RAM and a 5 1/2" Floppy . I thought that was the bomb until I met my first 8086!

Yep I remember those days of the old 286.

These days I've got over 30TB's and I'm waiting on 12TB HDDs to get to a good price/GB ratio so I can replace the 8 drive bays on this beast.

lol, wasn't intending on improving on the old IQ, was hoping to up the anti-social behaviour if anything.

But yeah, doubt i'll get into it. It gives you the impression that you need to dedicate a majority of you're time meeting/mining/building your shit in game. Something that doesn't fit too well into the schedule these days. i'd be lucky to get 3x 2hour sessions a week with online gaming in recent years.

Yeah I was the same with the C64 + Tape drive, Bubble bobble was one of my favourites, I was lucky I lived near a newsagent run by some pommy bloke and he was into it too, so he imported the magazines with the demo tapes attached from England, I had heaps of software, and then came the 5 1/4 floppy drive, I also used to do BASIC programming on it making music with the SID chip and a whole bunch of other cool stuff, fucked if I could remember how to do it now though lol 35 years later.
