I'm a bit of an old veggie gardener myself , and over the years have grown many different types , but in my opinion the mortgage lifter tomato has as good a taste as any
What is your fave

Any overripe beefsteak/indeterminate tomato is good.

I dislike determinate varieties like cherries.

What are the dark ones there?

Haven't grown many varieties but the grosse lisse are one of my faves to eat from an early age

Yes totally agree ,
The last four or five years I have been trialing seeds from the dwarf tomato project , they only grow to three or four feet and a little bit bushy with lots of laterals and they yield and yield and yield , only need staking to stop branches breaking from the weight of maturing tomatoes
Plenty of information and seeds on line

I think I'm somewhat allergic to nightshades.

They have to be completely over ripened for me or else they make my throat and roof of mouth itch.

Cant do eggplant either its even worse
