Are additives necessary?

Home made.......but not by me. A local farmer. I make my own compost,but not castings, as I have access to a plentiful cheap supply of castings

That's one possibility. Another possibility is that growers running at 2.0+ e.c. levels lack another contributing factor ( light, temps, VPD) in their environment .

you know imo the best castings come from not quite finished compost you feed to a worm farm , you & the farmer should get together

Hello again,

I was looking at the feeding chart that's on the website for the brand of nutrients I'm currently using, and apart from the base nutrients, they also recommend an additional six bottles of additives to go along with them.

I could probably afford to buy a nuclear powered submarine for the same price of all those additives, so I'm just wondering if people think they're necessary, or even useful, or if it's just the company trying to sell extra stuff for more dollars.

With growing less is always more I’ve been using the kiss method for 30 years keep it simple stupid i use mils six bottles from start to finish
