my opinion
the first thing kids should be taught is Critical Thinking stemming most likely from trivium education , after that learning another language is cool , I would add if i was in control of the education system , Music , leaning an instrument like allot of the Nordic countries do
" children who undergo musical training have better verbal memory, second language pronunciation accuracy, reading ability and executive functions. Learning to play an instrument as a child may even predict academic performance and IQ in young adulthood. "
as to immigration , nothing wrong with it , many countries like the US , Australia , UK & many others have thrived on multiculturalism , however it needs to be " Controlled legal Immigration " not open boarder come on in help ya self
for immigration to work the immigrating country or it's government needs to be able to have the resources like housing , healthcare , financial services , education & employment (to name the major ones) to support the increase in it's population , on the other end immigrants need to hold up there end as well by accepting the culture they have moved to & be prepared to fully assimilate into there new home , this doesn't mean they have to give up there own cultural traditions but just be prepared to accept the cultural traditions of the country they have moved too
