.. and here's me thinking AFL could be more progressive than the NRL. Ian Roberts came out 30 years ago (1995). Personally, though. I've never grasp the concept of coming out. Simply because I don't think it's any of my business. Secondly, I'm not going to judge or hold it against the individual. To me, you are what you are. If anything, I'll judge a person by their character. But going by previous experiences Gays are usually better people than the majority of us.

But if coming out gives the individual some comfort and helps them feel like they'll be better accepted, or whatever. By all means. But yeah, someone's sexuality has no bearing on me. You're just another individual..

EDIT: On the other hand.. If you're a fat, watery arse keyboard warrior with iridescent coloured hair that achieves fuck all all day, bar spew your toxic woke bullshit. Then yeah, I'll probably have a problem with you..
Ye I agree with tje edit bit fuck thos ppl n the Tuesday that think tjere good ppl because there offended n stuff but actually thats all thay do is get triggered n not actually do anything

with the event happened today across the country really made me reminisce about my life. I was fortunately able to immigrate into this amazing country and start new life more than 10 years ago. As someone with a refugee background there was no capital to start a journey. Luckily, there is something called Centrelink and was able to tried my best to study English. Was able to pursued higher education and graduated from a university with a bachelor degree. All the while, worked double shifts stocking shelves, cleaning toilets, saved money and bought my first home (still got another 24 years on mortgage rip me). Became a citizen 5 years ago. Couldn't hold my tears during the citizenship ceremony, when a little girl sang " I am Australian". I finally belong somewhere officially.
All those things I was able to do and enjoy because of the opportunity that was given by the country. Sometime when I am high as a kite, a thought would came to mind "holy shit, I am actually living the new life". The life which I used to only dream of living in the long way past. I love it. I love Australia.
But yeah, not everybody is like me. some never able to be assimilated. I also understand that it's not that they don't want to, they just can't. Most came from a fucked up country and their mentality, mindset is just not in the right place. They are afraid to speak out, worse when you can't speak the language. Shy and always lowering their heads do what they are told. Afraid of authority figures like police since a lot of them came from war torn countries where corruption is natural trait. A lot of them got ptsd including me (hence, the weed I guess). No complaints and also content with little money they get from Centrelink for their whole life. And their offsprings, who grew up here probably felt like outsiders and start to act out when their parents cannot relate to them. I feel like it's all a big mess. I mean of course, there is a reason for the huge turnout in protest across the country. Turn on the news and it's almost always some immigrants committing crimes. On the internet, almost alway. Not just in Australia, in the other first world countries as well. It's a shame.
I wonder what's the consequences of the nationwide protest gonna be. I will be lying if I say I am not worried.
is there way to delete this shit? I was high last night and now I feel like I overshared and it's cringing me. lmao

Nothing wrong with what you posted there, Yuser. It's good to read about your experience within this country, and the added bonus you're doing your bit to assimilate in our multicultural society. You're doing good. Don't worry about it.

It's when one makes no attempt to assimilate and bring their violent/criminal cultural ways that it becomes a problem.

Appreciate it mate. There is a reason why Australia is a great country, why there are many most liveable cities in the world. I just think whoever fortunate enough to be here should get behind that reason. No need to change. Just keep it that way.
But it's pretty tricky things to do for some unfortunately.
