Tbh I'm struggling to figure out why so many people get such strong issues with overwatering. I have watered every seedling I've ever grown indoors for 5 years daily to saturation and have never had any of the overwatering signs regardless of peat, Coco, living soil or potting mix. Winter, summer, low humidity, high humidity.

Genuinely curious as I always end up with issues if I don't water every day.
I've even moved away from using more than 5% perlite In me potting mixes and still water daily with no overwatering issues.

Just seems bizarre how I've managed to avoid the one issue that everyone usually has for 5 years now and i water like so much more than anyone else does, especially at the start of a run. I can leave seedlings sitting in an inch of water somehow and have never seen overwatering issues.

I reckon I could water me seedlings three times a day and not notice any difference from once a day. I wonder why. Like I water a comical amount compared to everyone else.
Mate i water everyday too twice a day when they are half way onwards, aslong as your medium isnt so dence it cant draw air in as the water sinks down (like a syringe) your good, oxygen to the roots is key its the reason DWC works and you cant have any more water than that

Weigh the pots on a scale.

Weight differences help you identify a cup that needs water vs one that still has moisture.

For example, my seedling cups are under 190 grams when dry. They get a drink when weight reduces down near 200 grams.

I had to use the weight method on my current seedling grow as humidity was very high, and temps were very low, so substrate surface still appeared, and incorrectly felt, moist.
Cheers mate. Thanks for the advice much appreciated.

I think a lot of ppl when starting out just forget 2 put drainage holes in solo cups, or they be using potting mix or soil that is 2 dense without perlite.....[ahem... yes i know someone pretty close 2 me]

Does that make the seeds half auto?
Will they flower regardless of light hours still?
Autoflowering is a recessive trait, first gen will be mostly (if not all) photoperiod, f2 they start to show up and by f3 (auto sibling X auto sibling) it's basically locked in, but there may be a small amount that will still be be photo, so breeders will generally take them to f4 for guaranteed autos

F1 - 1% autoflowers
F2 - 25% autoflowers
F3 - Pretty much all autoflowers
