Hello,
Just firing up my next grow. 2x4 tent. I’m sub floor (under the house) so I have amazing consistency 21c and 65% humidity on average. Imma going to need to bring that humidity down in a few weeks. Any simple suggestions for a small space? I’m running a 180w bar heater too.

Any suggestions would be appreciated where I don’t need to drop $300 on a unit.

3 x white widow auto. Will update accordingly.

This is a cheap option. If you are using a controller you will need to bypass the switch on the dehumidifier so it switches on from the wall.

Or forget about the controller and Kmart dehumidifier and go for https://ebay.io/m/gQihmz

Compressor Dehumidifiers are superior to the dessicant dehumidifiers

I’m only in a 60x120x150 tent. So not. A big room. It’s next the ducted gas heating unit so get residual heat. I have one of these. https://amzn.asia/d/02zEnKep Might try it first
Give it a go no harm in trying inside the tent. Those compressor dehumidifiers are the go but they are big and you'll probably need to run them outside of the tent.

That first Kmart dehumidifier I linked went pretty hard in my 5×5 tent, had it setup to the inkbird after pissing off the useless switch it came with and it was good for a few years. I had no ducting vents going outside so I was basically recycling stale air. When it pissed down rain the humidity in that room would skyrocket to 80-85% and that dehuey would keep me at 65% throughout the rain period, when the rains passed it would be able to go back down to 45% easily.

It shat itself just after the warranty expired 🤣, but that thing was constantly running and got me through to harvest quite a few times so I definitely got my moneys worth.

I reckon you would get the same kinda outcome from the cheaper ebay compressor dehumidifiers, if they last 2 years or a bit longer then that is fine - you get what you pay for 👍🏻

I got a dehuey from big dubs, can't remember but I do remember I put it on afterpay just to see what the hype was and pretty sure I was paying 80 bucks for 4 fortnights and it hasnt faulted me since. Pretty sure its a Brevile Air Sense or something but earlier model. This was before the pandemic.
They've even got an industrial unit there for a grand that looks like it could pump out a greenhouse

But I do recommend sticking to the well known refrigeration brands. My Brevile has lasted some abuse since before the pandemic. I ran it for like 4 months straight at one point and just had it piped out of the shed

Edit: This is the bitch I got
But got it for cheaper unless thats a more upgraded version in the exact same case

Edit2:
Yeah mine doesn't have wifi and voice activation lol

This is what I got

Think I paid $280 max for it from harvey Norman . Not sure why they are so expensive now. Cant believe these thieves are still in business
How was the noise levels on that one Goonie? Trying to find info online but this model, and all other models I've seen, don't list it in the spec and the manuals are nowhere to be found, or just a shitty one-pager on the manufacturer site.

EDIT: Big W and Kmart sites have the best technical details, some even state the dB, so that's way more useful than any of the big retailers. Might just be the cheaper manufacturers, moreso than the retailers tho.

There's 3 different fan speeds, so you only hear a slight whooshing like an aircon and when the compressor kicks on

Grabbing one of these big fuckers. 20L is OP for a 1.5 x 1.5 space, buuuuut it's been humid af here lately and I've never really paid attention to rh other than when it's hot af, so it might just be like that in winter.

https://www.bigw.com.au/product/rinnai-airo-20l-compressor-dehumidifier-30m2-coverage/p/9900041496

Pretty basic controls with 2 fans speeds and only 4 settings for rh (40, 50, 60 and 70%). But going by the VPD chart that Waffles linked in my diary thread the other day, these should cover me from 20-35C for all stages of growth. Says it only goes up to 41dB too so should be quiet enough in the sound-insulated shed. The up to 250w of extra heat will serve a purpose too.
