I thought about going to Mardi Grass but the location, the police everywhere checking cars and people, would take a week to get there and back and spend a couple of days mixing with like minded folk plus it's harvest time, who wants to leave their grow for a week when at the pointy end? err no.

Yeah I've been there a couple of times def a nice part of the world .
I'm not into big crowds so no mardigrass for me.

I was there about same time as you Pedro. Went for a day visit with my sister and we explored the various hippy shops and a museum or coffee shop type place that had a bar from memory. They gave us a coffee and canna cookies for free and we got smashed lol

I couldn't believe this was going on so openly with the cop shop just up the road...wtf lol

Lots of different characters about and great art work, music and lovely organic gardens about and friendly people everywhere, It was a great experience back then

However I was in a Macau casino about 15 years ago and this Japanese guy in his 20's struck up a conversation with me which went something like this:

"Oh, you're from Australia, I've been there!"
Cool, where did you go?
"Nimbin!" (big grin on his face)
lol, where else did you go?
"Nowhere, just to Nimbin"
So you went to Australia just for Nimbin?
"Yeah!"

He was pretty happy with himself, seemed like a nice guy. Plus he was chubby so I guess he gets the munchies a lot.
