Ahh so you follow this diet or are going to?
Be interested to know how you go if you are or if your going to how you feel in a few months.
been doing this since April 2024 , first mistake was going all in straight away & not slowly transitioning over 5 or 6 weeks which would have given the micro biome time to adjust , which gave me a bit of diarrhea to begin with , & given my body time to move from burning carbs to burning ketones , first couple days were fine but for about 4 or 5 days after that even walking felt like my legs were weighted down or they were walking under water , lost 30kg over about 6 months , blood pressure went from reading on average 150/160 over 90/95 to normal 115/120 over 75/80 , i also do intermittent fasting at one meal a day but i've been doing that for around 3 years , for the record never lost any weight fasting but wasn't what i was doing fasting for , was more about giving my gut a break form multiple meals & snacks daily , once past that first week or so on carnivore been feeling great , don't think i'll be going back anytime soon

Do you eat anything other than red meat? Seafood? Chicken? Pork?
I find it very interesting. My health is currently good but we're all getting older and I love meat so it is something I would try to see if it benefited me.

don't east allot of chicken because fat content is a little low , same as turkey , on carnivore fat is the primary energy source , not that i wouldn't eat them just need to make sure your keeping up the fat content , not a big fan of pork so don;t eat it , again not saying you shouldn't eat it though , love salmon especially with the skin on ( fried crispy skin done in lamb or beef fat yum ) but would only buy it if it's wild caught , def not buying the farmed stuff , any fatty fish is good though , a feed of crayfish would be nice , do need to keep the heavy metals thing in mind when eating fatty fish so maybe only a once a week deal but where i live ain't no fishmonger with wild caught so don't get to eat it much

i mostly eat lamb & beef , don't eat processed meats like ham salami mortadella etc or even bacon because they all have added sugar , these meats eaten in moderation probably won't knock you out of ketosis but i'm a sugar junkie so i just prefer to keep away , in saying that bacon & eggs are pretty much a stable for most carnivores , eggs are pretty much a multi vitamin

i don't consume dairy , cheese can be addictive , well for me at least , butter or ghee is good , i use ghee to cook stuff in or melt over something after it's cooked , if you can get & afford grass fed red meat / butter & pasture raised eggs that would be preferred but not a must , I'd love to be ordering meat from Stockmans Steaks on the regular but i can't afford that , i buy all of my meat from Aldi , woolies or IGA , def don't buy from coles as they are selling beef that has been fed that bovaer stuff , only one butcher up here & i had a bit of a run in with him so i ain't gunna buy from him but having a "good" butcher would be beneficial

I'm on a low income & don't find it hard to be on a carnivore diet , i don't have to find rent each week though which would make it financially hard for those that do , but i buy mostly porter house , scotch fillet , lamb loin chops , lamb fourquarter chops , legs of lamb ( mostly boneless ) & the higher fat beef mince , always looking for the specials though but i seem to do alright budget wise

one last thing i didn't mention in my last post when talking about going all in with no transition to carnivore , i was getting leg cramps in bed at night within the first month of being on the diet , i just increased my salt intake & they slowly stopped , not a problem now
