Not that I can tell, it seems soft not that I really squeezed it but it's definitely not solid. Maybe just some weird growth like a dodgy leaf or like @Mellow oldfark said regrowth. The bud is quite mature so that's probably it..thanks for checking it out..not a seed bract?? anything hard inside it??

Yep you're spot on @Madmick sorry mate I've been on a 10+yrs break from growing so yeah the brain is still catching up, I do remember seeing them now and yes mainly on more mature plants. Thanks Mick for waking me upYou take lots of pics , surely you know what that is ?
It's a calyx that hasn't been fertilised, as the plant matures more and more will appear as the plant natural instinct is to produce seeds
If no male pollin is present they will remain empty
If you look at pictures of some mature buds you will see they have many of them , other strains may not be so noticeable
