I chose to dance with Mary Jane
Sometimes wondered. What if one day, a mini me comes into my life. I guess being in late 30s now still with a girlfriend reduce that chance substantially. Maybe not quite yet?
Caught him trying to light it up on one lazy afternoon, What would I tell him? He probably be around 17 now.
Maybe I will tell him something like this?
"Son, why don't you keep it on hold for a while? Maybe you should give this, the game of life a try without any influence of alcohol and
weed or any type of drugs. Or if you think you are ok with how my life turned out to be, I guess go ahead and light up that
joint. Let's share it just this once. After that, wait til 18 tho."
And take a seat beside him and continued,
"But I mean, my life is not that bad. Sure many ups and downs. Immigrating to a new country and starting all over again kinda suck. But that new country being arguably the best country in the world at the time helps a lot too I guess. But yeah, having to start learning a whole new language was pretty hard. Or you won't get a meaningful experiences in an English speaking continent ya know. But at the end, not too bad imo. Except your mum who thinks otherwise hahaha..."
Maybe I said all that because I still won't feel content like how I am not now. Already in the country for 15 years and still nothing solid to show for yet, except that useless degree and my "owned" house on a mortgage with 80% left to be paid.
But is the beloved
buds the culprit of my discontentment? Or is it I who made the decision to abuse the
herb?
But, the
grass is just the
grass. A
green flower, a
ganja. The
Zaza. It is just is.
I made the decision. I chose to dance with
Mary Jane. I ripped that bong up with a little
dab. And after that, I chose to not clean those dishes. I chose to doom scroll. I chose to sit on the couch and chill.
I chose to not...pursue that routes...
Anyway, after hearing the words, maybe he might light the
reefer up anyway? Or he might just...?
***Hmmm maybe I should write this up online.
