For autos, generally you'll begin low stress training around week 3-5 from germinating. You've probably seen people here using either budtrainer clips or just some wire pushed into the medium to hold the plant down.
High stress training like topping you do once or twice around the same time or just completely crush the main stem and supercrop it over for a similar outcome..
Since it's your first grow I'd probably just let the plant do its thing, maybe top once if you want.
With photos I'll usually top them first, 2 times or so, then in flower I'll supercrop to steer them away from the lights and that's it really... For autoflowers I just kinda leave them be and supercrop later in flower
