Dam that’s pretty good for the money, I’ll have a look, do people ever run lights down the sides or only above the plants? I’m new to all this.
I got a 40w light coming from AliExpress for my khat plant
Yea mate, you can run side lighting if you have a real deep canopy and you wanna get serious, but if you stick to controllable canopy depths you should be fine with just top lightning.

What do you mean? Is that a ratio or a name of one of the fertilisers lol 😂
Thats the NPK. I use canna terra flores if I'm not amending me medium. Usually ill get about 5-6 weeks out of a standard potting mix and then start to add the canna terra twice a week which has an NPK of 2:1:3. Very similar to what you posted above.

In the amended peat mediums I'll use fish hydrolysate (3-1-2) and worm castings.

Oh ahit sweet hehe okay least I have more of an idea what I’m doing now, before I had no clue if it was gonna run out of nutrients or not eventually. I’ll do what you mentioned

Man marijuana is so confusing lol 😂
It'll be all good once you get the plants in. It's always the before that gets stressful haha. Once it gets up and running, it's just another plant and a very easy one to grow in reality.

If you've had any experience with general gardening or growing chillis/tomatoes you will be fine.

What PH do I want my water to be that I’m giving to my marijuana plant?
I read online guides saying 6.3 is a good coco/peat ph. For context I’m using coco, peat and perlite. However I don’t know what these things even really are except the fact I’m using them as a medium. What ph do I want the water to be?

Anywhere from 5.8-6.5. a bit if swing is always good as certain nutrients absorb better when in an acidic environment, some more towards neutral. A bit of swing will make sure all bases are covered.

I sit neutral with my water as I'm in amended medium. Half half rain and tap water. Sits just under 7.0 and 0.3ec as my medium is a bit acidic. If I add fish hydrolysate it drops to about 6 so I usually feed once or twice a week come flower onset for a bit of swing here and there.

Peat is acidic (around pH 4.5), Coco is neutral so you should be sitting around 6 medium wise hopefully.

Might be overkill for most but If I'm using a potting mix instead of a buffered/washed Coco/peat mix I'll do a quick slurry test of the medium in distilled water before potting to see if it's acidic or alkaline.

Sometimes they have too much or not enough mineral buffers and the same with the slow release fertilizers. Sometimes the Coco is full of salts if not washed and buffered, and the peat can be anywhere from pH 3.5-4.5.

I throw 1:2 ratio of soil mix/distilled water and wait for 20 mins to see if it tends acidic or alkaline before I set my heart on a pre defined pH. If it's noticeably acidic I'll be fine with neutral water and no pH adjustment. If it's alkaline I'll need to pH from the get go.
