I did drop watering by a minute one a water 2 per 12 hours cycle, to try kill off gnats from reading thought it maybe to much water the gnats like them conditions, getting a little confused mate![]()
In reality you just gotta balance the pros and cons of drybacks to control gnat population vs using other methods like predators and Neem/peroxide flushes while keeping the medium at an optimal moisture content.
In my opinion you are pissing in the wind trying to dry Coco out enough every day to a point that will keep gnats away and you'd be better off with biological control, prevention (traps) and medium soaks.
coco dry enough to not attract gnats imo is also too dry to sustain a flowering plant but I could be wrong.
