Calling it day 1 of flower about 8 days of 12/12. All SFV x cakefighter.
1.2m x 1.2m coco tent 660w of light
4 plants in Pinegrow coco from bunnings straight out of the bag, multiple feeds per day through drippers at 2.2ec things are going smoothly using a few organic inputs alongside.
Next door i have this 1.2 x 0.6m tent with 300w of light.
single plant in a top fed recirculating dutch bucket system with hydroton at 2 ec and a sterile res.
Fun times ahead

original boards from Grow Lights Australia, in the main tent have 2 x there high red boards and 2 x UV boards. in the smaller tent just 2 x high red boards. each set of 2 has a 350w meanwell driver so can run them a bit harder if needed.

Have you done many grows with the uv boards from GLA??
Keen to know if you can notice a difference with the uv. Do you know what % of uv a and uv b they put out??

This will be my 3rd with the UV boards from memory, I haven't done a side by side so I can't really compare. But this round will be a better test as its a clone of the same plant in both tents one with UV one without.
Having said that there new versions of there boards all include UV as standard at a bit higher levels so I'm sure there is something to it.

Yeah apparently it's the next big thing in lights is to have uv diodes on them or have uv fluoro hanging with ya lights.
Seen a few companies trying different amounts of uv a and uv b
I'm keen to see how they compare for ya.

Yeh not just UV, seems just that near blue voilet spectrum is pretty big now.
I think companies are hesitant to put uv and far red in higher amounts as its hard to source efficient diodes, so there total umol/J would be down and hurt there marketing.
Also it is outside the technical PAR range and doesn't show up on ppf readings which will also hurt the marketing a bit.

Fuck I'm honestly not convinced uv does anything. Some of the most fragrant buds I've seen have been inside under hps and leds that had absolutely 0 uv at any stage of the grow. I've seen a few paid for studies by light companies that say buds have more turps and are generally better with uv. They still don't know how much, how often, what % of a or b or even how long for.
Personally I think it's just light companies trying to sell more products.
Still keen to see the difference between your current stuff!!

Yeh i think its down on the list of things like genetics, enviorment etc. but more and more companies seem to be using it as well.

UV is a stressor for the plant but also not healthy for us to be exposed to
too much UV "could" cause plants to hermie and be a health issue for the customer that the light manufacturer might not want to risk
