Awesome thats dedication.
When i get around to taking the boat out again you're more than welcome to tag along.
Problem is atm can't even catch/keep any squid for a while until rhey recover from the algal bloom. Snapper have been banned for years.
Hopefully the gulf recovers soon. Miss those early mornings on the water.
Ive never had any luck with squid from the jetty, so I never target them, so I'm probably in the minority of fishos who weren't too bummed by the ban (the stock death from the algae i didnt like because, well, the algae fucked our whole coast and that's not good).

I'd definitely be keen to jump aboard, that'd be awesome.
Mine and my wife's talk about a boat has been put on hold for a few years (this happened literally last week 😞 ).

Have hear software chicken frames for crab bait. But not for fish.
Would probably stay on the hook better than cockles!
Yeah it stays on the hook super well, I think I was using size 8 longshank but its been a while. Like you've said before fishing is way better in a boat but running around the sand flats is good when you're not constantly getting foot cramps 🤣..

You definitely get a work out on the beach.
I just hate the weed, even not catching anything is fine when you're out there just getting away, but when your lugging up heavy weed tangles it gets old real quick.
Last time me and my dad went out, the weed was that bad he couldn't hack it with his back... so he just sat on the Esky all day drinking, watching me struggle back and forth lol

Tonight's dinner. Thai red curry with the salmon.
Wife can't hack heat, so theres one measly tablespoon of red chilli paste in there instead of 3.
Going to make my own next time and limit the chilli so at least I can get more flavour without having to think on the fly tonight, and use dried Kashmiri chilli's to get the red colour and limit the heat for the missus!
