Filtering outside air for grow room

If I wanna make sure smoke smells from bushfires and my neighbours fire pit don't stank up the grow room, can I just chuck a HEPA and a carbon filter on the intake? Quick google makes me think that should be plenty, but maybe someone else already has a solution....?

Pics for anyone curious. One pipe for inflow and one for outflow, might run the outflow through the grow room ceiling instead. Room should be good to go in a day or so, just the water and elec to hook up and then hang the lights and air filter.

It could work, carbon filters do not work well with moisture though, so that would be my only concern when bringing air from the outside to the inside.

If that doesn't seem to work well then you might be better off just running a air purifier and a dehumidifier together in the shed / lung room

Doesn't get too humid down here, most of the time anyway. That lung room sounds like a good alternative though. Hmmmmmm

Smack on a carbon filter and send it, you'll be right

You will probably want an intake fan as there is a bit of air restriction with a carbon filter and to trust the exhausting air to vacuum in air through the carbon filter might not work and it might pull in air from cracks in your build or elsewhere or something

And you'll want to keep it out of any rain or anything like that, moisture does fuck em but I think it does take a bit

Found some ready-made solutions that go for around $70-80 online. They have HEPA, carbon and some other general filter and all can be removed for cleaning or replacement. A google of '100m air filter box' and you will get plenty of results.

Was gonna do a new thread, might as well chuck it here since relevance...

The chinesium inline fan in a noisy POS. Even at it's lowest setting I can easily hear it through the acoustic insulation and acoustic plasterboard. Shit's fucked haha. Got my my filter box installed but I can't use due to this shithouse fan.

Are any of the ebay brands any good - EG, KKino Life, Holland Hydroponics, etc? Or should I just get some posho shit?

You were bang on with this benn0. Once I connected up the filter box there wasn't really any air coming in via the intake pipe, was fine before that.

All fans are gonna be noisy, best thing you can do is make a box and line in with soundproofing foam and that will reduce it to a better level.

My 8 inch ac infinity can't go past 50% even inside the box I made for it.

Yeah get better quality, mine are Canfan and the first one I got 9 years ago is always running, even the last few months without a crop in. They all make noise but the better ones aren’t as loud as the cheapies, Any German brand has had good reviews over the years.
