Im a newby here but not to growing. What are 'white label' seeds? What us S1 and S2? Is Sacred seeds the best bet for quality high potency seeds? TIA
White label = bulk seeds/strains sold off under different brands. Royal Queen Seeds, Blimburn, Spanish seeds in general = white label.
Its kind of like buying milk, you got the more expensive good stuff like A2 and norco (like most breeders) and then you got the Chinese cheap watered down stuff like Coles and Woolworths home brand (like white label seeds)
S1 means the first Feminised selfed generation of seeds.
S2 means 2nd selfed generation
Some people will argue that white label seeds are shit, but that is far from true. The only bad thing is validating the legitimacy of the strain, which you would have to refer back to the descriptions to see if anything matches up (smell, bud structure or flowering times etc).
A breeder will generally have their strains stabilised (locking in certain traits by selectively breeding and backcrossing over a few generations) so generally what is described is what you'll grow out.
If any expensive seed seller can't provide proof of breeding whether it's backcrossing or multiple generations of breeding (F3, F4, F5 at the least), then they are not breeders, they are pollen chuckers, and if that's the case then you might as well be growing white label seeds on the cheap.
As far as I'm aware, sacred seeds does reproductions of breeder/branded packs and sells on locally, you pay extra but you also don't deal with border control either. So if that's worth it then so be it
