Fwiw never had any issues with mars lights, both bridgelux and Samsung evo variants seem to be fine.

Yeah the upfront costs of the fc Evo lights are quite expensive compared to the digilumen, but there's a decent gap between lm301b and lm301h evo diodes.
So price is going to be pretty far apart also.

The Samsung LM301H EVO has a longer lifespan than the LM301B. While both are known for their longevity, with typical lifespans around 50,000 hours, the LM301H EVO is designed with enhanced durability and is considered to be a more robust and reliable option. This is partly due to its higher operating temperature range and its ability to better withstand harsh environments, including those with high sulfur content.

Here's a more detailed comparison:
  • Lifespan:
Both the LM301B and LM301H EVO are rated for around 50,000 hours of operation. However, the LM301H EVO is often cited as having a potentially longer lifespan due to its superior durability.

  • Resistance to Sulfur:
The LM301H EVO is engineered to be more resistant to sulfur compounds, which can corrode and degrade LEDs. This is particularly important in agricultural settings where sulfur can be present in high concentrations.

  • Efficiency:
While the LM301H EVO is often associated with higher efficiency (more light output per watt), some sources suggest that the performance difference between the two is more related to bin sorting.

Just food for thought, digilumen are running lm301b diodes, great for the price but will cost more to run long term compared to the more recent diodes. Not sure on numbers, probably a negligible difference on a small scale but on a larger scale could make a decent difference with running costs 🤷‍♂️.
