I'm almost of the opinion that gabapentin is worse than the opioids, like with opioids there's addiction but there's ways to get off it and stuff but with gabapentin it really does make some changes to the way neurons fire in the brain as well as how neurons transmit signals between each other. Theres entire Facebook groups dedicated to people weening off which takes way longer than opioid weening.

IV opioid addiction would be a different thing I'm talking tablets.

May be Lyrica I'm thinking about actually but I believe they are very similar in action

With that being said sorry to hear about all that mate is surgery on the cards somewhat soon? Will you get much function back after surgery or is it more to limit the pain? How does cannabis go with your pain?
They are both evil. I hoping in the new year to go south for surgery but it won't fix foot and leg which has bad nerve damage and foot drop now I use mostly CBD and CBG with a smaller percentage of THC in the mix of oil I make which helps with to get moving in the morning and night the only way I can't sleep much so take my honey or sugar in coffee but when really need to kill the pain dry vape which works in about 15 minutes which I hate do as quite smoking and vape long ago the pain is goes from about 8 to 4 . Yes do own up to being a hypocrite because I never tried cannabis ever before even know that I was tough too make edibles at 15 by one of my tradesmen I was drinker and always scared of getting caught by my oldies and would of knocked the fuck out by the old man at that age but drinking was ok because I was earning a man's wage and weed was evil that was drumm into from early age. So how wrong was I now see how government gatekeepers are holding back things are not as addictive I had stop talking it because I told by a doctor for two weeks didn't even have a cravings the plant while had a tea brake but it was two weeks of hell with pain.

Doesn't matter mate still applicable I reckon. Medical is a pit stop on the road to legalisation
Completely agree also why I believe they demonise edibles is because you don't need as much comparison to smoking the edibles can last 4-5 times longer I use less then I should be if I was just vaping.
So big pharma isn't getting sales if your not using so munch.
It's even better when you grow your own and there's still tricomes all over your own bud unlike medical.

No one was judging, merely agreeing there are lots of remedies better than the industries gold standard of over medication of pharmaceuticals.
All good greenie I apologise for going off trust me I use to help people like me in the medical field and know all the shitty stigma that it has especially amongst specialists,

I thought that. When i was very young i worked in hospice in Melbourne that had the last two dr that could prescribe heroin for pain. It was much better then morphine, used, less lasted longer. Not everyone got it,it was for very bad pain. When the doctors retired, that was it. We began to use the syringe drivers then,no where near as effective. So yeah,i think they should be using it again. Fentanyl is good, especially the lollipops but the half life is not as good.

yeah,me too. I was prescribed the patches after being hit by a car. Felt like i was living in a horror show, horrible feeling. Got changed to norspan, much happier.
Some people by the time they get to the end of the train line have a pretty big tolerance. Fentanyl has a place for some for sure, from what I’ve seen.

Yeah it kinda freaked me out. Guess we don't get much of a choice in hospital 😂.

I was shocked after finding out though. Not sure how those poor people on kensington ave. Philadelphia manage with needles hanging out of their arms.

Like you mentioned; horror.. not the usual blissfulness you'd typically associate with opiates.

I always assumed they still used diamorphine in hospitals for the reason of its half life, opposite of fentanyl after they ditched pethidine early 90's maybe, due to complications and fentanyl being safer than old demerol
