What does the government (state and federal) gain from decriminalisation/legalisation? Income and taxation. Bringing cannabis out of the black market and into the GST system, excise, overpriced licensing, etc.
Hopefully any change in Vic will be less restrictive than what the ACT has done.
No doubt the medical cannabis industry will oppose changes, as the doctors, factories and pharmacists have to much to lose.
But it is time for the politicians to represent their electors, instead of themselves.

Dan will resist any pressure at a state level and use the reason that the Green's have a plan to legalise it under Federal regulatory control.
It is going to happen sooner or later, either at state or federal level, just need the Green's and Legalise Cannabis Party to put the pressure on.

The feds have tied up the canna market to make to make a profit for their big business mates, in turn filling their own coffers through taxation and fees.
Med Canna will be on the PBS before to long, then it will be the government paying their bills, win-win for everyone it seems...

If ya wanna grow for personal use, do it.
If ya wanna buy med canna at exorbitant price, do it.
If ya wanna join a co op for growing, do it.
Weed should be free!
Free to do with what it what ever you please!

NSW has actually taken the lead with Greens MLC Cate Faehrmann's private members bill in Feb 2021.

Easy to grow tobacco and poppy plants if ya thay way inclined mate,
why u need government approval?

I dont have to call up my local MP to get approval to grow tomatoes or chillies....why canna?
