I'm not going to pretend I am clueless I was going to buy a spider farmer but then i just saw pictures of a fire hazard.

What i want to know is that what is the safest and best value of the money as I have a budget for the light of 400 dollars max.

Not sure what size is best and what tent it should go in depending on the light i get?

hmm those are circular had never seen anything like that. they didnt say what area they covered. my friend has a tent but he uses the led lightbulb ones and he said if he uggraded he'd get a spider farmer or mars but i thought those were all square?

are these also relatively more expensive?
I’ve got Mars lights which I’ve not had any problems with. Spider farmer have problems with build quality, customer service and censorship. You won’t find many bad reviews of spider farmer except here. I’ve had a comment on another site deleted by spider farmer mod. Lights themselves are ok apparently, just a fire hazard.
For what it’s worth my brother is a sparky,he checked my light out and said it was ok. It’s about 7,000 hours old now.
Moral of the story is cheap lights can be cheap for a reason, buying on the internet can be a pain for customer service, have them checked.

Indoor growing is relatively cheap, getting set up to grow indoors is another thing altogether. But it certainly pays to get reputable brand name gear for the safety and performance factors.

Someone summed it up perfectly the other day with.. "a poor man pays twice."

What size grow area were you thinking, Von?

Yes this is great advice. I'm a renter and the last thing I need is some fire or other BS that gets me evicted. I've already been on a blacklist once because my partners ex smashed up our last house and we lost our bond.

my budget is $200 for a tent maximum, i was thinking about either a 1.5x 1.5, a 1x1

I missed the australia day sales as I was between paydays so as soon as the next sales are around i'll try to lock in a tent of that size

Ahh ok, seeing you're screwed on budget, it'll be on the smaller size grow setup., something i'm not too experienced in. Plenty of others here kicking goals in that area though, that can add more than i possibly could.

All the best with it, mate. (y)

Look at hydro Experts own range they cheaper end of market. I use their 1.2 x 2.4 x 2.4 , think it wasn't much over 200 so you should get what you want for that or less

Not the greatest quality, but look after the zippers and they'll last yah

120x60 mars tent is $150. You are going to have a small light, get a small tent. Quality is ok,my zips are still good after 14 months. Be aware, tents in real life are bigger then in your mind.

What Kee Mao said the black wing is now only $400.
quality light .

flower footprint is is 3 x 2 ft
veg is 5 x 2 ft
it will easily do for half of a 1.2 x 1.2 tent….but do one grow with it then get another of the same light ,,
then you’ll be sitting pretty with quality lighting ,,
it’s probably the Best Buy you can find at that price ,,
the cheaper lights might say they will cover more but the lights are usually crap.

You realise they are made in the same place? Will ya sparky mate provide a safety report on the connections?

No.

But I’ll create one just for you. Probably take me a week but stand by :)
I know spider farmer and kingbrite and one other cheap light are in the same group of companies. The only ref I can find to Mars and spiderfarmer being the same is….drum roll 🥁reddit.
