I was in Bunnings and was surprised to see a hydro section with grow lights for regular indoor plants.
I bought one of the lights for my seedlings. It saved setting my big light for a while and the seedlings are growing like a 'house on fire.'

Was that the kitchen herb planter. Looks ok for just that.
I was thinking of starting micro greens. But now I think I’ll just pop them in my tent along with my next round.

Which one did you buy? The website doesn’t give much info. Any idea how many watts?

There is no info re watts on the product itself nor on the booklet that came with it. (see more further down)
I can fit 4 x 12cm pots in the tray underneath the light. I grow in potting mix, always have.
The light is adjustable up to 44cm.

In the reviews many people were thrilled how well their indoor plants were doing under these lights. This was a factor in convincing me to try these.
I didn't keep the packaging but I'm sure the wattage was on the box. The unit was $75.00
This suited me and my situation perfectly but I realise they won't be for everyone.

I'll call into the store in the morning and post the info.

My seedlings are thriving

Well, knock me down with a feather. I couldn't believe the range of grow lights on eBay.
They look better and cheaper than what I bought.
Mine is just 20 watts but it's done the job.

I don't know a great deal about LED but they must be the way of the future.
I wonder how many watts is needed at least for the veg stage?

It's not necessarily about amount of watts. It's about light intensity, measured in PPFD. I've never used a light/PAR meter, I just observe if plants are growing ok. I use 135 watt LED for seedlings, until about 3-4 week stage - about 60cm distance. Could grow seedlings with less watts, by placing lights closer to plants.
