Bunnings storage containers are the go.

I'd try and go as big as possible too.
I have a 150L container, and they can hold 100L easy.
With your pain and fucked neck it would be a nightmare having to fill a 30l res every 2-3 days. With a big res you can go upto 2 weeks without changing the water.

I just run a hose from laundry tap to the res now instead of hauling 4-5 20l buckets to fill up 👍🏻

The autopot 35L Res is pretty cheap at around $40 if you are looking at something small. Had a bung down the bottom that'll take 6-8mm tubing. I've got one here but been too lazy to set anything up.

Otherwose the Bunnings 60L bins are cheap as chips. Something like $15-20..

The storage containers from Bunnings are a great option. I would recommend 50L+ in size as larger volumes of nutrient stay more stable and need less maintenance. Avoid clear or opaque containers as algae will grow if light can penetrate

These are good. I use them for my RDWC grow tubs..

But after many years of using them. The Nylex Tubs are rock solid. Used the in Butchers Shops and Growing since the early 90s. Hard to find them now, but Bunnings does have a cheaper knock off, still some of the strongest ones out there, but they are certainly thinner than the tubs of old. Cheeky bugga's sell the lids separately.

Handy Storage 30L Black Heavy Duty Crate

EDIT: Ive had these two (got more elsewhere) in use since 2005. Hardly any wear or damage, and no doubt they will see me out.

Yeah I've seen heavy duty storage containers as nute tanks. In the past I've used blue plastic 44gal drum, previously used to hold olives, so food grade. Used a blow up boat paddle to mix the nutes as I was using solid stuff at the time. Cleaned with bleach and scrubbed every now and then to prevent any unwanted issues.

Something to keep in mind with reservoir tubs. If using them in Flood 'n Drain, RDWC setup, etc.. the height of tub may need to be lower than the return line/hose. So you may have to consider a low profile tub when making your purchase

Yeah i would have preferred to use those totes but i couldn't find any that were big enough.
Another thing ive noticed with the cheaper storage containers (not your ones or the tactix bunnings ones) is they smell really bad and have oily patches all over. I don't know if that's bad or not, but i ended up just spraying epoxy paint all over the inside to make a barrier just in case. That was the first cheap container i bought for my 5×5 setup, and i didn't have much cash to spend getting started so that 150L $50 was better than nothing i guess.

They’re good, a knock off of the Nally bin. Top of the line food grade, also hard to find.

Sweet bro, much better idea, with the water and my stuffed back, I got and attachment from bunnings hooked it to the laundry sink. You just take the little metal filter off the sink tap and screw and the attachment, hook the hose up bingo no back pain (y) dump tank has pump and has attached, I dump it down the sink :)
