A complete newby here.
When I grew up I could only get hash. Only recently discovered how amazing weed can be. Have grown some terrible 'bush' previously but recently grew an auto Feminised and was amazed at how fantastic it made me feel. I never knew weed could be so euphoric.
I am nervously feeling my way around and trying to learn as much as I can.
Please excuse my lack of understanding or hesitation to engage.

Where did you grow up, you could only get hash ? Afghanistan ? Iran ?
During 1980s flower was not available throughout most of Europe. Moroccan hash was everywhere, including Amsterdam cafes. It was easily shipped into Europe via Tangier -Gibraltar, and no doubt other ports. Surprisingly( to me) most of the Amsterdam cafe menus were hash centric. There was usually only a very limited flower selection, and hash cost about the same as flower ( by weight)....bet the prices are not like that now. Anyway, I couldn't find any flowers ( at all) in England, Scotland or Spain, but hash in every pub, or street corner. Times have changed and lot more flower growers in Europe today, my Pommie mates tell me they now access nearly as much flower as hash, at least in Manchester City.

Yep, hash was the main stay in Europe for a long time. Buds were just not that avaialble even in the dam (as oldfox mentioned). The UK (outside London) was terrible and the further north you were, the worse the hash got ...fuckin' "council bar" in Scotland was the worst shit I've ever encountered 🤮

Although we have our challenges and like a good winge, we've pretty lucky here with our sub-tropical climate that is condusive to growing plentiful bud (y)

Was the local name for what was called "soap bar" or "rocky" down south. Yeah, it was pretty pale, low grade crumbly hash that always came with bonus extras like diesel and bits of plastic ...got half a fingernail in a block once

Yeah, sounds like the only stuff I could find while I was there. I understand why you would migrate to Australia, after smoking that stuff. 😉
