Grounding this light box

Hey,
Just looking for some advice from anyone that has used these light controller boxes.

So my friend that has alot of experience with light boxes told me not worry about grounding the box from the marked ground point, just plug in the timer cable and that will be enough to ground the box.

The controller has not been plumbed into power yet but I thought I'd get some second opinions.

Umm yea mate if there's actually a dedicated spot to run a grounding lead then I'd probably do that. Your mate might be very experienced with light boxes but he's obviously no electrician or he'd likely recommend grounding the unit. You only get one chance to get it wrong and it's lights out for you too and I personally wouldn't risk it
