Dipping my toe into the world of coco coir and been reading about buffering using calmag.
Being regional I’d need to buy it online, so was wondering is all calmag created equally, or are there shitty versions I’d be best to avoid?
Recommendations?
Can I buy any?

If you are planning to buy cheap bricks from bunnings and wash and flush yourself, be aware that the particle size can differ greatly from block to block of the cheap size.

Been using way2grow pre washed and buffered coco bricks 20 bucks for 5kg makes 60L working great, no need to clean or buffer.

Make your own calmag, theres a recipe half way down.

I use to soak a lot of coco in that solution. But in the end found it easier to just buy washed coco.

That’s exactly my intention Frank.
My Bunnings is fucking useless. They don’t stock any bags of buffered coir, as seen online at other Bunnings nor will they ship it. Sick of seeing other grows taking off I decided even crappy coir, prepared correctly, had to be better than Seales potting mix. Living out in the sticks has its benefits, but an adundance of hydro shops ain’t one of them.
Thanks for taking the time again, Frank.

ok... I'm not sure how that helps the above poster. Unless you know more about his local water chemistry than you are letting on.
