Australian man fined $1500 for self-medicating with cannabis butter and Vegemite on toast

So I came across this news article that someone posted on reddit:

What interested me the most was that this site, (which I'd never seen before) claims to be "AUSTRALIA'S LEADING CANNABIS NEWS SOURCE" however they claim that by their numbers his 409g of loose cannabis would be worth between $8,180 and $10,225. This seemed a bit high to me so I checked their own webpage to see what they were talking about:

It seems that they're estimating based on 1g prices. I mean, for "Aus's leading cannabis source" they should already know that no-one is selling nearly a pound of weed a gram at a time. That's some serious Cop Math.

This sort of shit has made me wonder whether I should bother reading anything else on their site. Does anyone have any experience with it?

Also, a discussion about what the guy did would be good. That's a lot of cannabutter!

It'd be safe to say that Karie Cornell (author) made a bit of a dick out of herself by stating such. If she happened to have a clue and/or scrolled down the page further, she might've stumbled onto the chart that displays the price of an ounce in each capital city that she should've gone by..



One can only hope her journalistic skills can improve from this article, onwards..
