g'day, i'm new here so thought i'd say hi :)

Been gardening outdoors for about 10 years but far from an expert grower.
Last 3 seasons i've been living in a valley which has challenging conditions. Seedlings are slow to get going in early spring due to cold nights and morning/afternoon shade. summer gets hot but plants tend to stretch a bit unless i put them in a really open spot due to the reduced hours of direct sunlight. Finishing is slow/tricky as the amount of direct sun reduces again in march/april, early rains or just high relative humidity combined with lack of natural air flow means a race against the evil mould. Have grown some nice buds here but yields are always disappointing and the mould issue is a pain in the arse.

Considering trying autoflower this year planting later and harvest earlier.

Anyone have any advice or similar experiences?

Hey P.L, i think what our friendly K.M might be saying is start them indoors under lights, gives em a nice warm start where roo's and the like can't much on em
This time of yr doesn;t matter much whether autos or photos just as long they gotta good start

Strain selection is very important when growing in an area such as you describe. It sounds like a similar situation to my own. I always use short flowering, early finishing indica dominant strains. Sativas never finish off well where I live

If photoperiods don’t do too well I wouldn’t be putting in autos unless you only want a very small yield ,,like an oz if your lucky.

Grow the strains you know do well there if you still have them, apparently we are coming into a hot summer so if that is the case will definitely help strains that struggle in the cold wet shit.

Welcome along too mate.
