This morning I went to check on my grow and noticed the inline fans were a bit quiet. The outlet fan was fine but the intake fan wasn't working. Given this was a Saturday morning there was no time to buy one on line so down to the local hydro shop where I paid $300 for a decent fan. Got home to swap them over and took the old one out and had a better look at it and noticed an 8 inch skink had committed suicide by getting it's head stuck / jammed in the fan blades. Got the bugger out, pugged it in and it fired up fine. Works perfectly, so ...... back to the hydro store to get a refund on the $300 fan. I'm thinking after this though I should pick up a back up fan for when this happens for real.

Shouldn’t you have just kept the one you took back as the spare?
Thought about it but a few other bills of late. Also I only spent around $120 or so each on fans on Ebay so the $300
was a bit steep to me, although it is no doubt a better fan than I have.

Do you have a large space that requires an intake inline fan?? I use passive intake for my grow spaces. Saves your money and extra electricity. Generally, not a necessity. Just one( or more) very ferken noisy one for extraction.
