Yeah mate I used them all the time with guerilla grows

Best if you know someone who can make them for you , not that easy to source

A unglazed clay pot with a top could also be used

Depending on the quality of soil in area you may need to amend 1 big area or a hole for each , 1/2 square filled with whatever you choose to throw in

Lot depends on soil in area , ie whether it's mostly clay or a good soil to start with how and what you amend it with

The more clay the more preparation

At a minimum 6 month's prep will he required if you want success
i plan on digging a big wide hole and ditching all the shitty clay like dirt, then putting good soil, chicken shit and compost in it with a couple handfulls of rooster booster and a mulch layer on top. and i plan on doing a big deep water every few days.

A hole 4 foot deep and 3 foot wide filled with cow shit, chook shit bit of blood and bone, and straw. Plenty of straw. You'll also need star pickets and barbed wire. 15 ltr water bottle off those water dispensers are handy . Don't skimp on the straw bales of straw on the top for good measure. Pest control bags of rat poison keeps the rodents at bay. Good luck.

understand your thinking pix but i don't think putting rat poison round a plant your going to consume , in one way or another , is a good idea

Besides being directly toxic to the mammals that ingest them, including dogs, cats, and humans, many rodenticides present a secondary poisoning risk to animals that hunt or scavenge the dead corpses of rats.

as mentioned by indy some soil amendments will attract all kinds of creatures to a grow site so your choice of said amendments should be carefully considered

I should have been a bit clearer when I mentioned the rodent bags, I meant they should be placed 10 to 15 metres away from the plants not on the base of the plants and any cats and dogs that you are going to see if you are growing in the scrub won't be friendly and aren't household pets. I've seen the damage that wild dog's and cat's do and have no problem about there eradication.

sorry pix i'm just not a fan of putting poisons in our own backyard
what will it kill , how long will it hang about in our environment etc etc

we use 2 many poisons , especially in agriculture ( food ) not to mention our homes

I agree 110%

All the amendments you advice to add are going to cause you nothing but grief

First thing is every animal is going to be attracted to your plot

Leaving baits is shocking alone. , but all you are doing is leaving more evidence something is going on

It's not the cats and dogs you are going to kill it's everything they feed on as well

One of the best ways to fight buds in the bush is the encouragement of predators to your plot , ie lizards , Small mice and rats that will feed on the bugs

You're trying to create a friendly environment

Another thing , through that in your plot and you'll need a yr or 2 probably before you could use it anyway, it will take that long to break down

Do it right and it will reward you yr after yr , do it wrong and all your effort go to waste and amount to nothing

Straw , never used it bush , just another thing that shouldn't be there and will be easily noticed from a distance , stick out like dog balls from air

generally pix as mic said your right but straw is mostly used as bedding for animals
being that it has no nutrient value unlike hay which is full of nutrients

straw would be out of place at a gorilla grow but i'm sure a suitable replacement could
be found in the local environment of that groilla grow though

There wasn't any hydro shop dry amendments where I was we just used what we were able to get. Even a trailer load of blood and bone and crap from the abbs was a bonus if someone was going into town. I'm just trying to say that everyone does shit different it might not be the way you would but it worked for us.👍
